MODERN ELEGANCE

For this project, the client wanted to freshen up their kitchen with the implementation of an open-plan layout and the use of environmentally friendly materials wherever possible, including raw oak and stone. Working closely with both the client and the architect, Braeside Joinery set about achieving this spectacular vision.  

The stunning island bench is a standout feature in this kitchen with its Caesarstone benchtop with intricate veining. The angles and exquisite curves of the finished kitchen soften the space. The design may look simple, but rendering it proved to be a challenge. The stone thickness had to be altered to create the curve, varying from 40mm in the centre to 10mm in thickness on the ends – a detailed job that was worth the endeavor for the marvelous result. 

This kitchen is generous in terms of space and storage, with the perfect set-up for entertaining guests. It boasts a large butler’s pantry, allowing the grunt work and mess to be hidden away from guests, while the island bench can be used as a buffet-style service space and enables the host to interact with guests while preparing food and drinks.
